DEFINITION:
Under the direct supervision of the Office Supervisor, the Scheduler performs a variety of tasks that affect the ongoing and future clinical care of patients on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling appointments and various testing.
- Making referrals to the appropriate facility and ensuring follow-up/reconciliation that tests and referrals have been performed.
- Collaborating with personnel from various providers to ensure timely appointments for CCSO patients.
- Working closely with patients to provide accurate appointments, authorizations, and information related to physician orders.
- Distributing hospital consultations for physicians according to the CCSO rotation schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a medical office setting, with basic computer and secretarial skills.
- High School or greater preferred.
- Must have good organizational skills, reading, writing and proven communication skills.
- Must be able to type 50 words per minute and 10 key calculator.
