Dr. Smith began her college education at Cameron University where she received a degree in nursing in 1996, and at the same time was raising a son and daughter who attended Lawton Christian School.  She worked at CCMH as a medical-surgical nurse until the year 2000. Dr. Smith then attended the University of Oklahoma, Norman campus, and received a degree in Classical Culture. She was accepted to medical school at OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City in 2003.

After medical school, Dr. Smith completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at the OUHSC Tulsa campus. She then entered a residency in Nuclear Medicine at OU Health Sciences Center until 2011. Dr. Smith served as an Associate Professor of Nuclear Medicine working at the OU Children’s Hospital Nuclear Medicine Dept. and the Stephenson Cancer Center PET/CT Dept. She soon realized that her joy and satisfaction came in working more closely with cancer patients, and she entered into residency once again at OUHSC in Radiation Oncology. After completing her residency in 2016 she joined the family of physicians at the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma in July, 2016.

In September of 2020, Dr. Smith moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina to become the Medical Director for the Duke University Health System at the Mabry Cancer Center. That move also brought her closer to her grandchildren on the east coast.

She is excited to be back residing in Lawton, OK with her husband JC, a software developer. She is proud to be home again as a part of the community where she raised her two children and began her education. She is Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology. Dr. Smith treats patients at the Lawton and Altus facilities.

Dr. Smith has a love of cats, both exotic and rescued, domestic felines. A passion for medicine ran in her household as her daughter, Dr. Terry Wolf, is currently a Radiologist.

Dr. Smith was very helpful. She was there when I need her and always with a smile.

Dr. Smith seemed very concerned about my well-being and was always kind and spent what time was necessary to treat me. I never felt rushed.

Dr. Smith is one of the best doctors I have had. I see why she was recommended by Dr. Thompson at OU. I will recommend her to anyone.
